The Job:
AvePoint is seeking a self-driven Payroll Specialist, with precise attention to detail, to join our Human Resources Team. This is a lucrative position which allows you to learn and sharpen your payroll, recordkeeping and reporting skills in a fast-paced global corporate environment. The Payroll Specialist will be the primary point of contact for all domestic and international employees with attendance and payroll related matters. You will not only be exposed to the payroll aspect of Human Resources, but the entirety of Human Resources Management world-wide. Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
• Ensure accuracy with all domestic and international payroll data entry and computations
• Process payroll and maintain payroll information as required (includes data entry for all attendance and personnel transactions such as new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefits deductions, garnishments, etc.)
• Confers with a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. Accounting department, County/State/Federal agencies, auditors, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate payroll processing
• Transmit payments for payroll withholdings, such as 401(k), pension, retirement plan…etc.
• Maintain, update, and improve workflow and established financial, legal and/or administrative guidelines
• Obtain knowledge on different country/state/county tax laws and assist in payroll tax registrations and reporting
• Research and resolve discrepancies with payroll information, perform scheduled activities, and liaise with payroll-related service providers
• Provide necessary reports for Accounting, Human Resources, and Department Managers as needed
• Perform sales commission calculation and reporting; resolve discrepancies for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of records and employee payments
• Ensure professionalism and confidentiality while working with sensitive information
• Perform other HR duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• BA is required, Business or Accounting background is a plus
• 2 years of payroll experience is required. (Multi-state and global payroll experience is a plus!)
• Exceptional strategic, analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
• Computer literacy with MS Office applications 2007 and proficiency using Excel
• Experience with HRMS preferred (ADP, PayChex, etc.)
• Excellent communication and people skills
