About the Company: Our client is a Leading Investment bank based out of Bangalore.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Product Control Group (PCG) supports the MARK and GLFI business lines and is accountable and responsible for the independent production and certification of the accounting quality Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet, on a daily basis.
Insuring reliability and audit ability of the Reference P&L calculation
Providing analysis & explanation of the P&L, using Income Attribution process, in interaction with RISQ.
Ensuring the accuracy of information contained within the Balance Sheet.
Driving the transformation from current state to the production of a Daily Reference “Accounting quality” P&L
The Data Quality Assurance (DQA) department within the PCG group is responsible for the control of accounting feeding and the reconciliation of the accounting data to front office data. Specific focus of the DQA team is the review & reconciliation of the Balance Sheet and Off Balance Sheet positions held.
The Data Quality Assurance (DQA) team is responsible for the control of the daily and monthly accounting feeding to the GL from back office systems, research and treatment of any error in the feed process on time. DQA is the owner of the product related Balance Sheet and Off-Balance Sheet accounts and is responsible to certify and support the balances in these accounts. DQA is responsible to provide internal and external auditors with adequate support and explanation of the balances, complete monthly certification and reconciliation packages.
The DQA teams is also responsible for the treatment of RDJ technical rejects, monthly control of internal accounts balance & monthly control of BAFI anomalies, Basel II accounting consistency, inter-company reconciliations, monitoring and analytical review & additional controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary tasks include but are not limited to:
Maintain detailed off-line reconciliations for general ledger activity that is processed manually to the general ledger outside of the upstream product systems.
Reconcile Inter-Company transactions and balances, partnering with different support groups to resolve these breaks in a timely manner.
Serve as back up to other members of the group.
Work as part of various project groups designed to improve controls and efficiency.
Assist with other tasks as required.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required/Must have:
Strong understanding and working experience with GAAP is required.
Strong working knowledge of diverse Capital Markets products.
Extensive experience with reconciliations within a banking or financial institution.
Candidate must have experience working with reconciliation tools, general ledger packages, and back office processing systems.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Desired/Plus:
Expertise in MS Access is a plus.
Understanding and working experience with IAS (International Accounting Standards) is desired.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required/Must have:
6-14 years relevant industry experience, specifically related to Accounting & Controls.
Desired/Plus:
Experience with Change Management processes is a plus.

Required/Must have:
Graduate/MBA
